About Dicevaders

Start with the grid, not with an isolated expensive purchase. Playstack describes a loop of drafting units and artifacts, adjusting dice and triggering combinations. Placement connects those decisions: identify the column you want to score, then look for the pair or other combination that makes its effect useful. Budge adjusts a die’s value; Chrono offers rerolls and shop refreshes. Neither resource replaces deciding what you want the roll to accomplish.

01

Dicevaders beginner guide: your first scoring loop

Build a useful column, form a pair and make the next shop decision with a release-run example.

1

Start with the grid, not with an isolated expensive purchase. Playstack describes a loop of drafting units and artifacts, adjusting dice and triggering combinations. Placement connects those decisions: identify the column you want to score, then look for the pair or other combination that makes its effect useful. Budge adjusts a die’s value; Chrono offers rerolls and shop refreshes. Neither resource replaces deciding what you want the roll to accomplish.

2

In Tyler’s sponsored release video, a die activates its numbered column. He changes a five into a four with Budge, making a pair: the Migo scores twice and the artifact in that column activates. That is a useful first-turn model—choose a valuable column, form the combination and watch both the unit score and artifact condition. Mult affects the result, but this example does not establish a complete damage equation for every effect.

Dicevaders commanders: playstyle guide

Understand ten official commander identities and the different conditions their abilities reward.

1

Playstack describes commanders as different combinations of abilities, perks, artifact synergies and XP scaling. The official spotlights below explain those identities; they were published before launch, so check the current tooltip before relying on a precise balance value. This is a playstyle reference, not a performance tier list. The opposing StarVaders pilots can disrupt the plan, which makes a commander’s resource loop only one part of a run.

2

The Captain spotlight gives The Mothership one Budge at turn start and artifact XP when a pair scores in its column. Monocle lets a lone Base Die count as a pair. Rocketship rewards spending Budge with random unit STR, while Bunker rewards saved Budge with Mult at turn start. These point in different directions: decide whether the current plan needs an immediate value adjustment or a saved-resource payoff. The spotlight describes the choices; it does not rank them across runs.

Dicevaders Captain build: a Mini Dice engine

Compare a Leviathan carry attempt with the Astromancer and Xeno Seed direction that overtakes it in one release run.

1

The Captain spotlight gives The Mothership one Budge at turn start and artifact XP when a pair scores in its column. Monocle lets a lone Base Die count as a pair. Rocketship rewards spending Budge with random unit STR, while Bunker rewards saved Budge with Mult at turn start. These point in different directions: decide whether the current plan needs an immediate value adjustment or a saved-resource payoff. The spotlight describes the choices; it does not rank them across runs.

2

Tyler buys a move or swap to align Migo with a useful pair artifact. The purchase matters because it connects the scoring unit to the effect he can repeatedly activate. In the same early run, a Time Angel sacrifice supplies Chrono, while his first Chrono expenditure can produce Mini Dice. When evaluating a placement, trace that short chain: what scores, what it activates and what resource brings the next activation closer.

Dicevaders artifacts: XP, triggers and placement

Connect the artifact’s trigger to the column and commander effect your board can actually use.

Choose the resource loop you want to manage

Playstack describes commanders as different combinations of abilities, perks, artifact synergies and XP scaling. The official spotlights below explain those identities; they were published before launch, so check the current tooltip before relying on a precise balance value. This is a playstyle reference, not a performance tier list. The opposing StarVaders pilots can disrupt the plan, which makes a commander’s resource loop only one part of a run.

Captain: spend Budge or preserve it

The Captain spotlight gives The Mothership one Budge at turn start and artifact XP when a pair scores in its column. Monocle lets a lone Base Die count as a pair. Rocketship rewards spending Budge with random unit STR, while Bunker rewards saved Budge with Mult at turn start. These point in different directions: decide whether the current plan needs an immediate value adjustment or a saved-resource payoff. Dicevaders units: roles and positioning

Use direct scorers, sacrifice resources and consumers as different parts of the same board.

Separate scorers, resource units and consumers

Tyler’s release run shows three different roles. Migo provides direct scoring. Time Angel grants Chrono when it dies, so sacrificing it can finance another decision. Leviathan consumes the unit below at turn start and gains its STR and money, making the vertical placement important. Before adding a unit, decide whether it is the scorer, fuel for an effect or a resource source. These examples explain roles, not the strength of the entire unit roster.

Place the payoff where its trigger happens

Tyler buys a move or swap to align Migo with a useful pair artifact. The purchase matters because it connects the scoring unit to the effect he can repeatedly activate. In the same early run, a Time Angel sacrifice supplies Chrono, while his first Chrono expenditure can produce Mini Dice. When evaluating a placement, trace that short chain: what scores, what it activates and what resource brings the next activation closer.

Dicevaders perks: choose by condition

Compare what commander perks ask you to do, from saving Budge to managing artifact levels and Rage.

The spotlight describes the choices; it does not rank them across runs.

Blob Girl: turn Mini Dice into repeated value

The Blob Girl spotlight centers on Mini Dice. Amalgram generates them and gives artifact XP in a scoring Mini Die’s column. Oozone adds their Dice Power; Acid Town scores a random unit elsewhere after Mini Dice score in its column. Blob Cutter raises Mini Dice power but restricts their values to 1, 2 and 3, while Slusho Max adds Mult after Base Dice score. With the restriction, check that the columns you want to activate still fit the available values.

Dicevaders Constellations: artifact-pool notes

Understand the documented Watcher and Boombox restriction before searching the ordinary artifact pool.

1

The August demo update removes Watcher and Boombox from the demo and identifies them as Constellation-unique artifacts in the full game. That matters when searching for a named artifact: an item missing from the ordinary pool is not necessarily something more shop refreshes will solve. Check its Constellation association first. This dated note does not give the unlock steps, selection procedure or the full membership of each pool.

2

Playstack’s launch list includes more than 30 Constellations, six difficulties and a true ending, 13 Multiverse challenge modes, and Daily Challenges. Those labels describe different available content. They do not establish that a normal first victory completes the ending requirements, that every challenge has the same restrictions or that a mode unlocks at an assumed point.

Dicevaders Multiverse: a Lifeless Space guide

Adapt purchases and scoring priorities to one narrated challenge run, with a separate Ultimate Earth patch note.

Lifeless Space: prioritize the available unit economy

In Tian Kami’s narrated Apple/Whisperer attempt, Lifeless Space begins with restricted artifacts and prevents new artifacts or bonuses. The player therefore prioritizes shop rarity and rare units instead of shopping for a normal artifact engine. Pair-destroying the Apple still supplies artifact XP. Before spending, identify which purchases the challenge actually permits; then build around that economy. This account covers one mode and one run, not the rules of the other Multiverse challenges.

More Mult does not replace missing flat STR

During Tian Kami’s Lifeless Space attempt, the player calls out insufficient flat STR while also pursuing Mini Dice and Hive Mind effects for Mult. The eventual narrated win is narrow. If activations are frequent but the result is weak, inspect what is being multiplied as well as the multiplier. This is a lesson from that challenge run, not a tested universal threshold; the translated transcript is not a reliable basis for precise item values.

Common questions

Short answers before you set out.

Does Chrono always reroll Base Dice?

No. In Tyler’s frozen-dice encounter, Chrono cannot reroll the dice, but shop and on-spend uses can still matter. Read the active modifier.

Are these builds ranked across difficulties?

The Captain example compares two directions within one recorded release run. It is a conditional guide, not a ranking across every difficulty.
